The Fallout Community has just announced that an ambitious 18-member team is hard at work on a Fallout 4: Cascadia that will be the first in the series to introduce the Pacific Northwest to the Fallout world, though it is still likely years away from being completed.

Fallout Cascadia is meant to take place several decades after the Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4 timeline and will be set in a post-apocalyptic (possibly due to a Cascadia Mega-Quake eh, eh?) Seattle, offering a retro, yet futuristic glimpse of a terrain that will be roughly the size of Fallout 3. In addition, it will extend beyond Seattle and into the surrounding areas of Mercer Island, Redmond, Bellevue, as well as forests and Sea-Tac / Boeing Field.

Work on Fallout Cascadia began six months ago, but with the Creation Kit currently in open beta on PC, work has intensified and the team wants to get word out. The modders will offer the release for free as a standalone game on the Nexus website and on on Bethesda.net for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The mod team has set up a subreddit and social media feeds for others to follow as development progresses. From the sounds of it, there is going to be a ton of content, with new quests, locations, and factions. There’s not a great deal of information on the story as of yet, but you can find out how to help over on the Fallout Cascadia page.
