Skagit County is trying to fast track permits for a new oil-train terminal at Shell’s Puget Sound Refinery. Last week, planning officials in Skagit County decided that bringing new oil trains through Washington’s communities had no significant environmental impacts… which allows Shell to avoid a full environmental review, including public input.
We have until May 9th to convince the Skagit County Commissioners and Dale Pernula, the Director of Skagit County’s Planning Office, to reverse this shameful decision and protect our communities. Join us on May 6th as we pack the next meeting of the Skagit County Commissioners to demand an environmental review of this project!
