This Bellingham based singer-songwriter has been entertaining and enlightening audiences around the world for nearly 30 years. Music and storytelling connect people and events in powerful ways, and Dana’s performances do so brilliantly. Every performance is a celebration of life on earth, fueled by his infectious music, sharp wit, keen observation and warm heart.
Dana’s beautiful new CD, The Great Salish Sea, is a collection of stories about ordinary beings, loving this earth and each other during extraordinary times. The title track is a stirring account of the dramatic, and dangerous, changes experienced by by one orca whale as she has returned to the Salish Sea throughout her 101 years.
As a passionate lifelong advocate for the environment and social justice, Dana Lyons has been defending pristine salmon habitat of Bristol Bay in Alaska, resisting the fracking of farmland in Australia, blocking the Keystone XL pipeline, and fighting to stop the devastating impact of coal exports through our own Great Salish Sea.
