REGIONALLY

Become a Cascadian Ambassador in your community!  As an ambassador, CascadiaNow! members are able to promote, educate, and organize in their communities- spreading the word about Cascadia and bioregionalism, but also capitalizing on the local culture of their community to celebrate their unique value as a piece of our beloved Cascadian bioregion! Ambassadors attend a monthly conference call with CN! staff, and actively work to organize events in their communities.  We currently have ambassadors in Portland, Spokane, Bellingham, Eugene, and many more communities across Cascadia.

Core CN! Project Support

  • Made in Cascadia Directory:
The Made in Cascadia Directory supports a network of locally owned, independent businesses and producers that are sustainable and ethical, upholding the strength, vibrancy and diversity of Cascadian communities. Engaging with local businesses and growers, we will create an open source “Made in Cascadia” regional directory and brand. Read more about the project here and email morgan@cascadianow.org to learn how to get involved.

  • Bioregional Passport:
The Bioregional Passport will help to educate and celebrate our incredible bioregion. Using the Ecoregions of Cascadia map created by the Cascadia Institute as a starting point, we have divided Cascadia into seven smaller regions for purposes of fitting education about the bioregion into a tangible passport. One goal of this project will be to have the Bioregional Passport be used to get stamps when visiting participating “Made in Cascadia” businesses, generally helping promote travel and culture across Cascadia. Email morgan@cascadianow.org for more information!

  • Bioregional Curriculum:
The goal of the curriculum is to create learning materials that promote the mission of CascadiaNow! through by building a social and placed based curriculum by compiling reading lists and resources on Bioregionalism and the Cascadia movement, with the goal of creating a Cascadia curriculum and certifying course to be offered throughout the year. Learn more on our website, and email brandon@cascadianow.org for more information!

Creative Mobilization

  • Visual and Written Media Volunteers
We are constantly looking for contributors to help us creatively communicate the beauty and diversity of our bioregion through journalism, photography, and film. This can include helping us better design our social media channels, contributing to bioregion centered blog posts and social media campaigns, writing op-eds, helping to create film projects that can help educate about Cascadia and CN!, etc. etc.! Cascadia is a vibrant, artistic community that we want to showcase visually! If this strikes a chord with you, email morgan@cascadianow.org.
