Tae Phoenix, a powerful activist musician, performs one of her songs about what housing justice means in the context of Seattle’s communities and environment. She tells stories such as how she has opened up her home and a poignant musical moment in the streets of Seattle. She begins a conversation about what we can do, “the way things are exists by mutual agreement and we can change that agreement any time we decide to.” Tae Phoenix leads by example not only with policy work but with small-scale things we can do to make a difference in the housing affordability crisis.
Tae Phoenix is an activist performer born and raised in the occupied Duwamish land colloquially known as Seattle, WA. She holds a B.A. in psychology from Pomona College and loves to geek out about culture, technology, and Star Trek. She is a passionate intersectional feminist who makes protest signs in her spare time and sits on the strategy team of Seattle Indivisible.
