The speaker at this Lunch and Learn will be Chris Wilke, Executive Director of Puget Soundkeepers Alliance, who will provide information about the threats to the health of Puget Sound, including from fossil fuels. Climate change impacts only exacerbates the damage from other human impacts.

With its 2000 miles of shoreline, 28 river systems, 10,000 streams, 8 species of salmon & trout, 10 species of marine mammals and an important shellfish industry, Puget Sound is a national treasure that is under threat. Toxic pollution from stormwater, wastewater, industrial agriculture and fossil fuels imperils the future of the Sound and threatens the health of our communities.
Join us to learn more about which specific issues pose the biggest threats and what can be done by citizens, policy makers and industries to protect Puget Sound and all of its freshwater tributaries. We’ll also have a discussion of some of the recent efforts by the new federal administration to undermine existing protections and what is being done to resist dangerous policy proposals and funding cuts.
