From Standing Rock to the Salish Sea: “Building Solidarity with Indigenous Resistance”
Fundraiser, speakers, food & music! $5 entrance fee, 21+
The proceeds from this event will go to the Na’ah Illahee Fund and to the Pull Together campaign to fight Kinder Morgan’s huge pipeline and tanker project. If built, the peipeline would be bigger than both Keystone XL and the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Kinder Morgan’s pipeline and tanker project poses unacceptable risks to our oceans and waterways, our climate, economies, and communities. First Nations have vowed to stop Kinder Morgan in the courts, so people, businesses, and community groups are raising funds to support them through this effort called Pull Together.
Na’ah Illahee Fund (Mother Earth in the Chinook language) works with a community of teachers, partners, staff and board members who work with numerous small organizations across the Pacific Northwest to build up the leadership of Native women and girls and their connections within Native communities and cultures.
Let’s protect resident orcas, salmon population, and tribal rights. Join us next Tuesday to support the Na’ah Illahee Fund’s amazing work and to stand with First Nations in the fight against Kinder Morgan.
See you on the 30th!
In solidarity,
Victoria Leistman, Sierra Club
